Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) is a free talking therapies service for people with common conditions, such as anxiety, depression and stress. This service is accessible for people living within the Swale, Canterbury and Coastal areas and is part of the NHS IAPT initiative to involve local qualified mental health providers in the treatment of common psychological disorders that affect all of us at some point in our lives.
Talking therapies can be used as an alternative or in addition to prescribed medication, which your GP might provide for mild to moderate mental health problems.
IAPT services are designed to offer a level of support that gets the best results and helps people to help themselves, supporting them to get back to enjoying life and engaging with work or daily activities.
In some cases we might require you to fill in this PHQ-GAD questionnaire before coming in to see us.
